Poppies are near and dear to my heart as they evoke memories of my grandfather, who served in the Canadian Navy during WWII. Every year I paint a few poppies to honour all of the service men and women, past and present. A portion of the sale of each poppy is donated to the Royal Canadian Legion.

The poppy flower symbolizes remembrance.
